Earwax & Frequently Asked Questions.
Although earwax does help to protect the inner ears it may be useful to clean the ear canals from time to time. Also, some individuals are pre-disposed to impactions and over produce cerumen. Some individuals also produce a relatively hard earwax which can be problematic.
|
Another important fact to keep in mind - the ear canal is dark, moist and warm. These conditions create the ideal environment for the growth of bacteria and fungi. Thanks to the inhospitable nature of earwax, these ear canal conditions can be maintained with minimal threat from infectious organisms.
