SoaftCoat vs Other LacquersThe Advantage of a Humectant There are many nail lacquers that claim to treat brittle or damaged nails. Just be aware that many of these lacquers may not contain a humectant. Without a humectant, the lacquer is less likely to have the ability to keep moisture within the nail bed. It may be able to prevent some water from escaping but not as effectively as a nail lacquer with a humectant such as urea. The importance of maintaining moisture within the nail bed is reviewed on another page. See SoftCoat Brittle Nail Treatment SoftCoat vs other lacquers lacking a humectant
Keeping more moisture within the nail bed is the advantage that SoftCoat has over most other lacquers that do not contain a humectant. Also look for ingredients such as acetone which may actually harm the surface of your nails.

Clinical Support or Proof
Very few lacquers will present clinical data supporting their efficacy in treating brittle or damaged nails. Simply put, that's because it doesn't exist. Essentially this means that their is no proof that the lacquer will do what it claims. Unlike other nail lacquers, data to support the efficacy of a urea based lotion such as SoaftCoat does exist. Click the icon below for more information on the clinical data related to a urea based nail lotion such as SoftCoat. |
