More than 30% reported the craniofacial (scalp/face), groin, or inframammary (region beneath breasts) regions. Because many respondents reported more than one region of involvement rates add up to a figure well above 100%. For example 81% and 46% of individuals reported hyperhidrosis in 3+ and 4+ regions respectively. Interestingly, 89% of individuals over the age of 65 years reported their sweating has stayed the same or become worse over the years. This finding dispels the notion that focal hyperhidrosis regresses over time and that its prevalence is relatively low among older adults. *Dermatol Surg 2016;42:1347-53
